James (Jimmy) Henry, age 79 of Monticello, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024. He was born July 23, 1944, in Warren, AR to the late Walter Henry and Adelene Brown Henry. He graduated from North Dallas High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello for three years. In his younger years he enjoyed square dancing the night away with his lovely wife Susie. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his many plants, spending time with family, especially weekly Sunday dinners, and watching his great-grandchildren play. James was a man of many words that most of us did not understand. He always meant the best and loved all.
He retired in August, 2023 after 40 years of owning and operating Monticello Landscaping Company. James was a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church for over 30 years. He loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith never wavered. Even during his last moments James gave all his worries and fears to the Lord and left this earth in peace.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brother, Junior Henry and Nelson Henry; a sister, Evelyn Henry; and his sons, David and Jimmy Henry.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susie Henry of Monticello; his children, Joe (Andrea) Huskey, Don Huskey, Kim (Shawn) Densmore all of Monticello, Penny (Sean) Fry of Austin, TX and Wendy (Chris) Ray of Monticello; 19 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren whom he was known to as ''Pops''; a brother, Bobby Henry.
There will be a visitation from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Assembly of God Church; PO Box 628 Monticello, AR 71657. You can sign James' guestbook registry on this page.

To Susie and family, we were saddened to hear of the passing of James. We enjoyed knowing him and serving as his pharmacy while he did a good job of lawn care at our home. Always enjoyed interesting talks with him about life. It's comforting knowing he is with the Lord as we had many talks about our common faith. May God bless you guys. Mike & Shirley
