William "Billy" M. Winders, Sr.
February 16, 1935 - April 7, 2015

William M. “Billy” Winders, Sr. age 80, joined his Heavenly Father on April 7, 2015. He was the son of the late William E. and Mattie Jolly Winders. Billy was a very loving husband, father, and Paw. One great grandchild called him Paw pee. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid fisherman. He loved playing cards, whether he played alone, or with others. Billy simply enjoyed living life. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was retired chief engineer from Kirby Marine Inc.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce Houston and Mike Houston. He is survived by his wife of 61 years and 10 months, Ruby Iline Brixie Winders of Monticello, three sons; William “Bill” Winders, Jr. and wife Deborah of Monticello, Randall Winders and wife Twila Winders of Mt. Tabor, and Jimmy Houston and wife Brenda of Mayflower; two daughters, Ruby and husband Milton Brixie of Mt. Tabor, Mariann and husband Mark Woods of Monticello; one brother Earl Winders and wife Sherry of Loraine, OH, two sisters Barbara Anderson and husband James of Vermillon, OH and Carolyn Starnes and husband Chester pf Amherst, OH, six grandchildren; Jennifer Chapman, Randy and Angie Winders, Lee and Wendy Winders, Joy and Brandon Stringfellow, Dell and Joe Donaldson and Samantha Chapman; nine great grandchildren, Jordan Burch, Dom Williams, Austin Williams, Ethan Winders, Kaitlyn Donaldson, Jaiden Winders, Braydon Winders, Blaine Donaldson and Elizabeth Grace Stringfellow and an expected arrival of another great grandchild, Kensley Rae in May, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
