Orbert Jay "O. J." Curry, age 76 of Rye, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born May 18, 1942, in Drew County, AR to the late Herston Curry and Margaret Coker Curry.
He was a retired engineer for Union Pacific Railroad, a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church and also attended Harmony Free Will Baptist Church at Rye. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Curry.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Christeen McKinney Curry of Rye; four daughters, Angela Mondragon of Conway, Tonya and Sonya Curry of Norwich, CT and Megan Curry Wells and husband Andrew of Little Rock; one sister, Glenda Curry Andrews of the Rock Springs community; four grandsons, Danny and Joel Brickey, Jesse Mondragon and Sebastian Wells; three granddaughters, Lauren Curry Castle, Miranda Curry and Mariah Curry; three great grandchildren, Syndee, Maycee and Jake Brickey; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Union Cemetery at Rye with Military Honors. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
