Charles Kenneth Bowden, age 78 of the Prairie Grove community, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home. He was born April 15, 1936 in Drew County, AR to the late Howard Bowden and Mary Frances Howell Bowden.

He worked for the Soil Conservation Service, was a pulpwood subcontractor and farmer. Mr. Bowden was a member of Ladelle Baptist Church and served in the United States Army National Guard. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Downey Bowden and brother-in-laws, Rev. Jack Ferguson and Willard Clampit.

Survivors include his wife, Cavie Joiner Bowden of Prairie Grove Community; two daughters, Angie Sowell and husband Tommy of Prairie Grove Community and Amy Bowden and husband Kenny of Hamburg; one brother, Clifford Bowden of Goose Hollow; two sisters, Geneva Clampit and Ruth Ferguson both of Monticello; five grandchildren, Keith Sowell and wife Sarah, Kelly Myers and husband Grant, Taylor Wells, Shanie Wells and Bodie Bowden; one great-grandson, Peyton Myers; and numerous other relatives and friends.
