Emmett C. Halley

Emmett Halley, 83, of Monticello, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 at his home. He was born November 18, 1925 in Drew County, the son of the late Carl Halley and Jewel Devaney McDaniel Halley.
He was a retired supervisor at Burlington Industries, a Veteran of World War II and Korea and a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Akin Halley; two sons, James Thomas Halley and Ricky Lynn Halley; one brother, Henry; and one sister, Ethel.
Survivors include three sons, Emmett Halley, Jr. and wife, Cindy, Carlton Halley and Paul Halley and wife, Monica, all of Monticello; one daughter, Carolyn Adams and husband, Ben of Monticello; one sister, Edna Crook of Monticello; ten grandchildren, Amy, Jayme, Ricky, Steven, Brittany, Jonathan, Christopher, Cynthia, Kip and Jackie; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Rebecca and Brook; and three special friends, Shirley Gregory, Michelle Robillard and Carrie Milholland.
