Shirley Jean Ridgell
June 30, 1939 - September 10, 2020

Shirley Jean Ridgell was born June 30, 1939, to the late Edward Ridgell Sr. and Ajamae Ridgell in
Monticello, Arkansas. Shirley was the 6th child of 12 children born to that union and was the 4th oldest
sister. She departed this life Thursday, September 10, 2020, at the age of 81 at the Medicalodges Post
Acute Care Center. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Mount Zion AME Church. She performed Christain duties as a missionary for her church.
Shirley attended Old Drew County High School and was with the class of 1960. Shirley earned her GED
while raising all three daughters. She loved working in arts, crafts, and making pottery figurines. Shirley loved red roses and loved to paint red artwork. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren very much and performed babysitting duties for all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ajamae Ridgell, three sisters; Sadie Hunter,
Eddie Mae Robertson and Marvastine August, six brothers; John Ridgell, Stanfield Ridgell, Willard
Ridgell, Ralph Ridgell, Edward Ridgell Jr., and Herbert Ridgell Sr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory; Three daughters; Jean (Roy) Webb, of Kansas City, KS,
Marvastine (Fredrick) Nichols of Garland, TX, and Keisha (George) Ridgell of Conway, AR; Nine
grandchildren; Marcus Webb of Kansas City, KS, Marissa Webb of Kansas City, KS, Marquiona Ridgell of
Conway, AR, Tyler Ridgell of Conway, AR, Fredrick Nichols Jr. of Garland, TX and Charles Nichols of
Garland, TX, Quincy Nichols of North Little Rock, AR and Jaden Carr of Conway, AR, Tonya Allen of
Dermott, AR; Eight Great Grandchildren; Alaysia Webb of Kansas City, KS, Aniyia Miller of Kansas City,
KS, Rajahnai Calvin of Kansas City, KS, Marcus Webb Jr. of Kansas City, KS, Liroy Webb of Kansas City, KS, Leo Webb of Kansas City, KS, Myeze Webb of Kansas City, KS; Three sisters; Eleanor Ridgell of
Monticello, AR, Lois (Jesse) Washington of Monticello, AR and Mary (John) Hudspeth of Manassas Park,
VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Special Friends; Anita
Spence (nurse) who loved Shirley and her family.
