Mildred Louise Burks

Mildred Louise Burks, 84, passed away July 7, 2010 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born April 27, 1926 in Drew County and was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Burks and parents Frank C. and Jessie (McCable) Burnett.
She was retired after 30 years of service with Burlington Industries and was an active member of the Green Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, George Burks and wife, Pam of Bryant; her daughter, Barbara Woods and husband, Rick of Monticello; two brothers, one sister, grandchildren, Patrick Fowler and wife, Kristie, and Jeff Fowler and wife, Leah, all of Monticello. She is also survived by a best friend of many years, James Craig of Monticello; five great-grandchildren, Patrick, Karlie and Matthew Fowler and Elijah Schell and Annabel Fowler; four step-grandsons, Tommy, Aaron, Forrest and Richard Woods and one step-granddaughter, Rebecca Socia, all of Monticello.
