Linda Kay McClure Bates, age 71, of Monticello, Arkansas passed away May 19, 2023. She was born January 23, 1952, to the late John Dale McClure, Sr., and Eurple Allen McClure. Linda worked for the farm store for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the Monticello Church of Christ. She loved to hunt and was a people person who loved everyone she met. Her greatest love was her dog Bo.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, J.D. McClure, and a widow to two husbands, Melvin McKinney, and Richard Bates.
She is survived by her sister, Ione Lloyd Easterling; nephew, Michael Lloyd (Beverly); three nieces, Lanelle Beavers (Rudy), Michelle Blake, and Shanna Baker (Greg); a host of great nieces and nephews; one step-son, Jay Bates (Jennifer), two step-daughters, Jana White (Ben), and Jenny Bates; 9 step-grandchildren; and a special sister in law, Pat Thomas.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman.
