Jane Meeks
August 9, 1946 - August 25, 2023
Jane Meeks, age 77 of Monticello, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. She was born August 9, 1946, in Pine Bluff, AR to the late Robert Edward Wardlaw and Laura Lou Wardlaw.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, LaRon ''Ron'' Meeks and an infant sister. Jane was a retired home economics teacher where she taught in the Wilmar and Drew Central School Systems. She was also a very active member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for the Joy Class and was an active member of the W.M.U. and Retired Home Economics Teachers Association.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Meeks and wife Lexy of Monticello and Jon Meeks of Monticello; one daughter, Laura Pyle and husband Jason of El Dorado; four spoiled grandchildren, Rylee and Judd Meeks and Zoe and Kaelyn Pyle; a brother-in-law, Kirby Meeks and wife Loretta of Monticello; a special best friend since the 2nd grade, Mary Faye King of Monticello; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. David Bowen and Rev. Joe Chambers officiating. There will be a visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery. You can sign Janes' guestbook page on this website.
