James Revel Jackson
January 31, 1948 - April 10, 2024

James Revel Jackson, age 76 of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his home. He was born January 31, 1948, in Warren, AR to the late J.B. Jackson and Louise McNabb Jackson.
He was the owner/operator of Jackson Saw Shop for 52 years and a member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church. Revel loved deer and squirrel hunting, water skiing, frog gigging and bow hunting. He killed his first deer at the age of 16 and was an NRA member for 30 years. He was a small engine mechanic, teacher and basketball coach. After the arrival of his granddaughters, he retired to spend more time with them. They were his pride and joy! In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Cleo Padgett; his uncle, Joe Frank McNabb; and his longtime hunting buddy, Darrell Mainard.
Revel is survived by his wife, Victoria Jackson of Monticello; his son, J.R. Jackson and wife Shannon of Monticello; his daughter, Kristi McDaniel of Woodlawn; two granddaughters, Gracie McDaniel of Woodlawn and Mallory Jackson of Monticello; a brother, Bevel (B.J.) Jackson and wife Stephanie of Monticello; his mother-in-law, Kathleen Padgett; aunt, Lynn Burton; sister-in-law, Peggy Pritchard and husband Jerry of Pine Bluff; along with special family friends, Gail Mainord, Kay Carter and Carolyn Ripley Pierce. The family would like to issue a special ''thank you'' to Dr. Michael Fakouri, Theresa Duckworth, Monticello Police Department, the nurses and staff at Drew Memorial Hospital and Little Rock Baptist Health, and Pafford Ambulance Service.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Zan Pierce officiating. There will be a visitation preceding the graveside service from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jerry Jordan, Jim Beck, Cam Franks, Trent Brown, Junior Burdan, and Larry Scogin. Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Dale Martin, Todd Dickinson, Henry Lee, Phil Gladden, Tommy Newman, and Bobby Wilkerson.
