Exloa Wainwright Davis
January 28, 1954 - July 19, 2024

Exloa Wainwright Davis was born on January 28, 1954, to the late Horace and Maoler Wainwright. She lost her battle with cancer on July 19, 2024, and went home to be with her Heavenly Father. She attended Woodlawn and Rison High School. After graduating, she worked at Burlington factory in Monticello, AR for years to provide for her family. After retiring, she played a major role in all of her grandchildren's lives, along with two other grandchildren that she claimed as her own. She attended their many school functions, graduations, and life events to show her love and support. Exloa loved to see her children enjoying life and always opened her door to babysit. Grandma's house was the place to be!
She met the love of her life, William "Motto" Davis, and they later married on January 29, 2001. They raised five beautiful children together. Exola raised her children to be loving and caring individuals and enjoyed cooking for them daily and making sure their needs were met.
Mother Exloa Davis was known for praising the Lord and praying for everyone she came into contact with. She even prayed for others on her sickbed. She had a caring, encouraging, and compassionate spirit and did everything with a smile. She was a faithful woman of God, a true prayer warrior, and she loved unconditionally. Anyone who knew her also knew that she was a doctor, lawyer, private investigator, teacher, and politician; there was no winning an argument with her.
Before the pandemic, church was her favorite place to go. It was her peace. Exloa Davis dedicated her entire life to Christ and was a faithful member of Tates Temple Church of God In Christ in Rison, AR. During her membership, she served as a Sunday school teacher and was later ordained as a Mother of her church. When the Wednesday night prayer call was initiated after the pandemic, Mother Davis was a regular attendee and always actively involved. She also attended Sunday School via phone call when she could no longer attend in person.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Motto" Davis; her son, Zale McKinley; her great-granddaughter, Jerrica Marshall, her parents, Horace and Maoler Wainwright; her grandparents, John and Reoler Davis and E.G. Wainwright and Alvie Johnson; three sisters, Hazel Wainwright, Ora Lee Langford, and Pearl May Harris; and one brother, Willie Wainwright Sr.
Those who will cherish her memory forever are four daughters, Tammy and Sonya (Dwana) Wainwright of Rison, AR, Janie Livingston of Pine Bluff, AR, and Ta-Tanisha (Christopher) Rachal of Little Rock, AR; two sons, Antonio Davis of Rison, AR. and Ulyss (Diane) Davis of Fordyce, AR; four sisters, Fannie Lou Hicks of Monticello, AR, Celestine Brown and Marcia Morris of Rison, AR, and Tammy Eddington of Fordyce, AR: five brothers, Horace (Deatrice) Wainwright Jr., G.W. (Laura) Wainwright, Joshua Wainwright, Steve Wainwright, and Otis (Felisa) Wainwright, all of Rison, AR. She also leaves to cherish her memory twenty grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant/ Campground Cemetery in Monticello, Arkansas. You can sign Mother Davis' guestbook here on her page.
