Mackie Hood Boyd

Mackie Ovida Hood Boyd, affectionately known as ''Tete'', age 88 of Star City, AR, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Dalton's Place in Star City. She was born December 9, 1935, in Ashley County, AR to the late Mack Hood and Nola Mae Roberson Hood.
She was the widow of Thomas Darwin Boyd, Sr., a retired Burlington Industries and Monticello Schools employee, and was of the non-denominational faith. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Aaron, Johnny, Robin and Jimmy Hood; three sisters, Infant Pat Hood, Norma Sivils and Reatha Wright; and a daughter-in-law, Glenda Boyd.
She is survived by two children, Linda Boyd Gipson and husband Phillip of Alexander City, Alabama and Thomas Darwin Boyd, Jr. of Monticello; three grandchildren, Allen Douglas Wright, Jr., Michelle Wright and Lauren Boyd; eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all of the Dalton's Place employees for taking care of Mackie and for loving her.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at United Pentecostal Church in Monticello. There will be a visitation from 1:30-3:30 p.m. preceding the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery. You can sign Tete's guestbook registry on this page.
