Lu Ann Tucker Groce Denison
March 19, 1954 - September 22, 2024
Lu Ann Tucker Groce Denison met her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 22, 2024. Lu Ann was a woman of strong faith and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a graduate of Monticello High School and loved making the town of Monticello her home. Lu Ann had an eye for beauty and a vision for creating warm, inviting spaces, whether it was for a client, whose home she prayed over as she worked, or her own home which was the family hub for weekly dinners and holiday gatherings. Lu Ann considered being a mother and a ''Lulu'' to her four grandchildren her greatest delight, and they were the center of her world. In fact, she was adored as ''Lulu'' by her nieces, great nieces and nephews, and her grandchildren's friends. She was sacrificial and committed to nurturing and supporting her flock. Life was always more fun with Lulu. Lu Ann was preceded in death by her husband William Pierce Groce, Jr. (Bill) and by her parents Ann Marie Andler Tucker and Roland Newton Tucker. She is survived by her devoted husband Sam Denison; her children, Leigh Ashley Breedlove (Mike) and William Pierce Groce, III, (Amanda); her grandchildren Tucker and James Pierce Breedlove and William and Katherine Louis Groce; her brothers Mark Tucker (Kathy) and Gary Tucker (Beth), her nieces Anna Beth Barnes (Rob) and Sara Davis (Philip); and her sister-in-law Lee Ann Groce Tadel (Jim), her nieces Tricia Baker (Trae) and Amy Arnold; and her step children Holly Graves (Ryan) and Adam Denison. Lu Ann's happiness did not depend on her life's circumstances. Her happiness was deeply rooted in her total dependence upon God to see her through every day and on the relationships she forged with her family and friends and the wonderful life she lived with them. Some people leave a void that simply cannot be filled; that is how many people will feel about our Lulu. There will be an informal gathering of family and friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center.
