Drake Austin Wood, age 19 of Monticello, AR, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born December 21, 2005, in Lake Village, AR.
He was employed at WB Shedd Industrial Services and was a member of Cominto Baptist Church. Drake loved hanging out with his buddies, listening to loud music and making everyone around him happy. No matter how bad your day was going, Drake could get a smile out of you. He also loved working on his truck. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby Wood, Sr., Teresa Wood, Rosie Hamaker, Barbara Faulkner; and uncles, James Wood and Larry Duhon.
He is survived by his mother, Edith Ann Faulkner and husband Justin of Monticello; his father, Bobby Wood, Jr. and wife Ashley of Dermott; siblings, Joshua Wood and wife Madelin of Monticello, Jase Wood of Dermott, Mackenzie Wood of Dermott, Kimie Wood of Dermott, Chloe Faulkner of Monticello, Stephen Evans, Jr. of El Dorado and Skyelar Evans of Dermott; an uncle, Donald Dofflemyer and wife Shelby of Monticello; an aunt, Barbara Steel of Rayville, LA; grandparents, Jean Dofflemyer of McAllister, OK, Carl Lewallen and wife Jamie of Thibodaux, LA; niece, Ryleigh Wood; nephew, Weston Wood; along with cousins, Trent Dofflemyer, Cameron Dofflemyer, Leland Dofflemyer, Diamond Steel and Hunter Steel.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Monty Meeks officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday preceding the funeral service. Burial will be in Rash Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are John Densmore, Brody Cater, Tyler Hornaday, Skyelar Evans, Red Faulkner, Mark Hatcher, Paul Hatcher and Michael Knight.
