Jearline "Jewell" Martin
April 10, 1935 - October 13, 2011

Jearline departed this life on October 13, 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia. Jearline Davis Martin was born in Monticello, Arkansas on April 10, 1935 to the late Jeff and Leola Davis. She was met in heaven by her husband Reuben Martin, parents Jeff and Leola Davis; her twin Yearline Lamb; her sisters, Rita Mae Brown, Birtho Jackson, and Erma Jean Robinson; her brothers, Otis, Uyless, Duffie, OV, Jeff, Jr, Henry, Tyree, Calvin and Mylow.

Jearline grew up in the Plantersville Community. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was active in the Stranger's Rest A.M.E Church. She attended pubic school in Drew County where she met and married the love of her life, Reuben Martin. After marriage, she moved to Lacy, AR and joined the Mt Pelium A.M.E. Church where she held various positions, Choir Member, Missionary Worker, Sunday School Teacher, etc. After the death of her husband, she moved to Monticello, AR and united with the Pilgrim Rest A.M.E Church under the direction of Rev. Broughton. She loved her church and Rev. Broughton's singing.

Jearline retired from the Drew Central School District after 30 years. She was one the first female bus drivers and later worked in the Cafeteria. She was an excellent cook and her family member and friends will always remember those good meals she prepared. She loved to get dressed up and wear hats to church. Her nephew, Rev. Desmond Lamb, was one favorite preachers.

She leaves to cherish her memories two children, Dorothy Martin Jordan (Raymond) of
Monticello and Jonathan Martin of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Marquita Taylor (Josh) of Jonesboro GA, Raymond Jordan, Jr (Mashaya) of Morrilton, Monica Martin of Texarkana, AR, Jonathan Martin, JR of Maumelle, Chris Martin of Little Rock, Morris (Pooh) Jordan of Monticello, Makesha Jordan of Beaumont, TX and Ramona Evans Don) of Coldsprings, TX; five great-grandchildren, Josh Jr., Dylon, Mariaghai, 'marious and Cartisha; three sisters, Iona Ridgell of Kansas City, MO, Norman Jean Woodard and Alberta Walton of Monticello; two brothers, Scott Davis of Kansas City, MO and Leroy Davis of Sherwood, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
