Verneta Farrar Bostian
November 29, 1928 - January 30, 2012

Verneta Corinne Bostian went to be with the Lord, January 30, 2012, in Southhaven, MS.
She was born November 29, 1928 in Drew County, AR. She moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she served as the dormitory supervisor at Phoenix Indian School. After retirement, she and her husband returned to Monticello, where she lived until moving to Hernando, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bositan, her father, Thomas Elwood Farrar, her mother, Ruby Sanderlin Farrar, and her brothers, James Winston Farrar and Johnny Lavon Farrar. She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Ann Farrar and Delbert and Sylvia Farrar, sisters-in-law, Sue Farrar and Betty Farrar, her son, Dale Bostian and her daughter, Patricia Parra, and grandsons, Christopher and wife, Toni Jo Parra and Anthony Parra.

In her retirement she developed a reputation in Monticello for the large garden and the showcase lawn she maintained with the help of her mother and her husband Bill. She loved growing things and spent many hours in the garden growing exotic plants, delicate flowers, and -- most treasured by her large extended family and many friends--vegetables, including highly coveted tomatoes and corn. Her legacy remains in the lives of her family, friends, and others due to her selfness devotion. She cared for her elderly parents, for her husband who suffered from Alzheimers, and for sick relatives and their family in their most critical time of need.
