Willie Bell Block
May 14, 1927 - January 31, 2012

Without warning, the Death Angel plucked a flower from our garden on January 31, 2012 at 1:30 A.M. and mother Willie Bell Block was called from earth to Heaven's reward. She was born May 14, 1927 in New Hope, Arkansas to Rosie Lee and Willie Columbus Douglas. She was 1 of 10 children.

She confessed a love for Jesus Christ at an early age. She became a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, four sisters, one brother, spouse and two grandchildren, Joey Block and Sheila McWilliams-Lambert.

She leaves to mourn one sister, Edna Dorham Allen (Eddie); three brothers, Rev. James Douglas, Alwestley Adams and Robert Douglas, all of Monticello; two devoted sister-in-laws, Theorthris Douglas of Wilmar and Cammie Block of Milwaukee, WS; nine daughters, Rosa Scott of Little Rock, Patricia Buckhanan (Rynadle) of Pine Bluff, Virginia Binns, Minnie Rhodes, Lula Harden (Henry), Gail Block, Mae Jane Block, and Linda Block, all of Monticello, and Ethel Mills (Jeremiah) of Dumas; four sons, John Wayne Block of Little Rock, Otis Block (Ida) of Dumas, Harold Block (Jewell) of Lacey and Rev. Ervin Block of Monticello; 40 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Mother Onnie Lee Daniels of Lacey, Mother Ernestine Stanley of Monticello and Mother Bessie Orr of Wilmar.
