Marion Darrough age 60 passed away, Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on June 20, 1956 to Curtis H. and Joyce M. (Jackson) Allen in Drew County, Arkansas.

Marion graduated from Monticello High School in 1974. She was employed at Burlington Industries of Monticello, AR, for many years. Marion began a new career working at the Bradley County Medical Center in the spring of 1986, which led to her becoming a Dietary Manager, where she served 30 years.

Marion professed her faith in Jesus Christ early in her adult life at Greater Shady Grove A.M.E. Church in Wilmar, AR. She was also affiliated with Pilgrim Rest A.M.E. Church in Monticello.
Marion had a gift from Jesus to sing the gospel and she had the perfect voice for singing it. For many years she served both churches and loved every minute of it. She loved and looked forward to attending the AME conferences every year and supported the activities of her church in many ways.

Marion devoted her life to raising her only child, Kirk Allen, and making sure that he had a solid foundation in Christian principles and having an education so he could be a productive Man of God.

Marion leaves to cherish her loving memory, her son, Kirk Allen; her mom, Joyce M. Steen (Chester) of Monticello, AR, four sisters and one brother, Curtisteen Stanley of Monticello, AR, Nancy Allen of Wilmar, AR, Carol Givens, (Lonnie SR.) of Gurnee, IL, Vicky Scott, (Alvin) of Waukegan, IL, Bobby Allen of North Chicago, IL, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Marion also leaves a very special friend, Mr. Andrew Wells, and the entire Wells Family. They were her extended family and she loved them as much as she loved her own family.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Greater Shady Grove A.M.E Church with burial following in Wilmar Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday night at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.

    Kirk:

My condolences to you and your family during this difficult time in your life and the homegoing of your mother. Know that she loved you very much. Each time that we met, you were the topic of our conversation. We shared many mama stories about our children and watching them grow up. It was evident by the look in her face, the light in her eyes, the tone in her voice, and the mere mention of your name that she had a heart full of love for you and wanted nothing but the best for you always. There is nothing like a mother's love. You were truly blessed with that.

It is my pray that you can at some point smile through the tears, move beyond the pain and remember the good times that you shared with your mom. May she live forever in your memories and in your heart. You have gained a heavenly angel. May your mom continue to watch over your from above.

    With Deepest Sympathy,
    Mrs. Jamison

Oh how I will miss my dear friend Marion. I would tease her about being 1 day older than me. She was a very special friend and person. I know Our Lord is pleased of the work she did here on Earth. We would laugh because she always wanted a preacher for a husband. Marion I will always cherish our friendship and see you one day soon. Sing for all.
