Gerald Wayne Gladden, age 75 of Monticello, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at his home in Monticello. He was born March 12, 1942 in Hamburg, AR to Jewell Jordan Hargis and the late Delton Gladden. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gay Youngblood Gladden; a son, Parish Gladden; and a sister, Susan Herring.

He was a retired pipefitter with 706 Pipefitter Union where he was employed for many years before working for Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home for ten years. He was a member of Florence Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Kim Gladden of Monticello; one daughter, Lisa Gladden of Monticello; his mother, Jewel Jordan Hargis of Monticello; two brothers, Billy Gladden and Dennis Gladden both of Monticello; one granddaughter, Hope Hutchinson; and two great grandchildren, Avery and Nazmae.

Those of us who were lucky enough to play Little League baseball and have Dewey Henley, Gerald Gladden, and Charles Fred Dearman as their coaches were very fortunate.
