Jimmy moire than anyone I know lived his dream. He was a real cowboy who was able to earn a living doing what he wanted to do. He was a rare individual in that regard. Besides that he was a very honest and straight forward individual. Those that knew him listened to his counsel, only after you asked for his opinion. He was usually right. I am honored to have know him and been a friend.
  2. Leigh Reed

Jimmy was a kind and sincere gentleman. At the start of my cutting experience, he instilled the cutting fundamentals in me that I still rely on today. It was always a pleasure to reconnect with him at cutting events. He helped my girls, Jennie and Rachel, become NCHA Youth Champions. We will always be grateful to him. The world has lost one of the last true horsemen. From our view, a life well-lived. We will miss him.

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the family for the loss of your dear Jimmy. I hope that you will find comfort in the words of Jesus at John 5:28,29 where he promised that the day is coming when he is going to resurrect back to life those in the grave. And they will be brought back to a beautiful paradise earth with no more sickness. (Psalm 37:11,29) (Isaiah 33:24) Until then, it is just like your dear Jimmy is sleeping. Sending HUGS !!! He was a WONDERFUL Uncle!!!! I learned a lot from my Uncle Jimmy!!!!
  62. Gail Kizer
As Dale stated, we grew up with Jimmy. He and my Daddy could talk about horses 24 hours a day and never get tired. I remember when he and Sug got married. Those were the good ole days when people visited their close friends on Sunday afternoons. To me, Jimmy was not only like "King of the Cowboys" or right up there with Matt Dillon, he was a great friend, and such a gentleman as well as a gentle man. I cannot express the joy I've had being able to worship with all of the Orrell's the last few years at Collins Baptist Church. Our church lost a big part of it when we lost Jimmy. Please keep Sug and her wonderful family in your prayers.
  63. Gail Henry Hammil

  71. Dale Kizer
Jimmy was my hero. We all grew up together, swam in our pond, listened to Jimmy play his guitar. The horse public only remembers Jimmy as one of the nation's best cutting horse trainers and past World Champion, but he also used to rope calves and was good at that sport too. A devout Christian and great, great family man and husband. I am sitting at my office desk in tears; I'm just heart-broken. Dale.
