Madeline Allison Gibson, age 94 of Monticello, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at The Woods Nursing & Rehab in Monticello. She was born September 29, 1924 in the Florence Community in Drew County, AR to the late Rev. Emmett Dayton Allison and Esther Whitaker Allison.

She was the widow of Floyd Thomas Gibson, retired manager of Selma Mercantile, Post Master, bus driver and cafeteria worker at Drew Central Schools and a longtime member of Selma Baptist Church where she led the singing for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Lee Odell Gibson; six brothers, Dayton Allison, Harry Allison, Glynn Allison, Flenore Allison, Odell Allison and Adrian Allison; and one sister, Ernestine Chesser.

Survivors include two sons, Glynn Allison Gibson and wife Ruth and Hal Floyd Gibson and wife Susan all of Selma; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Jones Gibson of Selma; five grandchildren, Michele Gibson Webb and husband David of Selma, Brian Gibson and wife Abby of Selma, Joshua Gibson and wife Crystal of Selma, Amy Gibson Kilpatrick and husband Eran of Walterboro, SC, Corrie Gibson Ferrell and husband Adam of Selma; eleven great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank The Woods Nursing & Rehab and staff for the excellent care they gave to our mother.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
