Louise Nolen Smith, age 79, departed this earthly life to rest on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, TX. She was born July 2, 1939, in Lake Village, AR, to the late Annie Bell Stephens Nolen and Zach Nolen, Sr.

In 1955, she married Willie Lemar Smith, Sr. and to their union was born 10 children. She enjoyed
reading and talking about the Bible and quilting. She was especially happy while gardening and tending to her flowers in her yard in Texas. She also loved being with her family, extended family and friends. While traveling, she would knit and impart her knowledge to anyone who would listen. Louise united with First Baptist after moving to Monticello where she remained a faithful member until her failing health.

She was preceded in death by three children, Willie Lemar Smith, Jr, Evelyn Louise Smith, and Jessie Lee Smith; two grandchildren, Randy Coleman and Leon King, and ex-husband and longtime friend, Willie Lemar Smith, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: five daughters, Gladys Young of Monticello, Minnie Mae (Edward) White of Cedar Hill, TX, Rosie (Kennon) Coleman of Oak Leaf, TX, Annie Smith of Desoto, TX, and Mable Smith of Lancaster, TX; a granddaughter she raised, Shyreeta Hicks of College Park, GA; two sons, James Smith of Toledo, OH, and Tony Lavan Smith of Midlothian, TX; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, her extended family and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
