Early in their marriage, they lived in El Paso, Texas where he delivered milk for Borden and she worked in a five and dime store. They returned to Arkansas and settled in Crossett, owning the Brookings Furniture Store in partnership with Wilbur's brothers, and raising their two daughters. As a couple, they danced together and in later years fished together.
Marzee lived in a way that made everyone around her aspire to be a better person. She was a strong woman of faith. She believed in the value of hard work, seldom sitting still. She was truly generous and kind. Her laugh would brighten any room. Her greatest joy was her family, helping take care of practically every child that came along. She enjoyed many hobbies in her long life including golfing, bowling, painting, reading, crocheting, gardening, and most recently bingo. She was the best grandma anyone could ever have.
Marzee was preceded in death by her parents Jerry Marvin and Lela Ann (Chapman) McGough, her husband, daughters, Roxie Gale Brookings Crow and Sandra Lynn Brookings Willis, an infant son Don Wilbur Brookings, and five siblings.
Remembering Marzee with love are her four grandchildren Kim Crow (Mark) Sheaner of Mountain Home, AR, Mark (Melani) Willis of Mountain View, AR, Karen Crow (Jamie) Erschen of Plano, TX, and Rick (Melissa) Willis of Mountain View, AR; eleven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; her sister Louise McGough Funderburg of Monticello, AR; and many nieces and nephews.

Chicago, IL Wednesday, April 17, 2019 I see all the beautiful qualities described in Marzee in her wonderful Granddaughter Karen. Karen loved her Sweet Grandmother with all her heart. She possesses that same quality of loving care pasted down to her. Marzee will be greatly missed.Deborah & Sonny Graves
Mountain View, AR Tuesday, April 16, 2019 Sonny and I really loved Marzee and enjoyed anytime we were able to visit with her. We have only known her 20 of her 102 years, but feel we KNEW her the moment we were introduced to her. We send our sincere sympathies to her grandchildren, who she always shared stories about and photos of with us. And her dear sister, who was as much a pleasure to be around as Marzee. Thank you all for sharing your treasure with us.
