Douglas was a part of Ebenezer AME Church during his childhood. He united with Mt. Pleasant AME Church where he was a devoted usher until his health failed. He loved God and was very proud of his church family.
He was a very loving and devoted son and brother. His mother raised him to become an independent young man. He did everything for himself. He was respectful and polite to everyone he met and "ladies came first" in his book.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Travis, Leon, Troy and Evans Ridgell; and four sisters, Maudell, Narvis. Willie Mae and Charity.
He leaves to cherish his memory, six brothers, Donald (Maxine), Billy (Dantanese), Dwight and Bommie, all of Monticello, AR, and Earl (Anna) of Grand Blanc, MI and Chris Ridgell of W. Bloomfield, MI; sister-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Ridgell; devoted cousins, Barbara Blair, Clara Blair, Genevieve Blair, Steward, Gary Ridgell and Ronald Davis; a loyal and faithful friend, Mrs. Shirley Griffin, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday May 10, 2019 at Campground A.M.E. Church with burial to follow in Campground cemetery. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.

Spring, TX Thursday, May 9, 2019 To the Family, so sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Douglas has the prospect of being resurrected, healthy (in the flesh), to Paradise Earth just as Jehovah God has promised. In fact , the vast majority will enjoy everlasting life right here on earth as God had intended from the beginning. God's Kingdom will do this under the rule of Jesus Christ.
