Brenda Jean Harris, 50, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010. She was born September 22, 1959 in Monticello to the late Mary Jean Harris and Arthur Harris. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother Mary Lou Harris, her uncle Jimmy Harris and brother Steve Harris.

Brenda graduated from Monticello High School in 1977. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was a lifetime member of Pilgrim Rest A.M.E. where she was a member of the Chancery Choir, Celestial Choir and a member of the Children's Church with Dorothy Woods. Brenda was devoted to her church, always willing to serve and work on the Kitchen Committee. Brenda never refused to prepare a good meal. She was a former employee of Drew County Development until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter Letia Moore; two sons, Derrick Harris and RaHeim Carr; two grandchildren, Johnta Moore and Sa'mia Moore; five sisters, Debra (Kenneth) Newton and Juanita Freeman both of Little Rock, AR, Jacqueline Thompson, Corrie Harris and Gail (Steve) Simmons all of Monticello, AR; four brothers, Arthur (Stacey) Harris of Little Rock, AR, Jesse Harris (Jolanda) of Biloxi, MS, Marcus Harris of Conway, AR and Rickey Thomas of Florida. Two special nieces Melanie Newton and Vonterris Harris of Little Rock, AR and two special nephews, Barron Harris (Aisha) and Kevin Newton of Little Rock, AR and a host of friends and relatives. Special friends Sonja Owens, Connie Barron and Jackie Jones.
