Annamae Copeland Sawyer, age 91 of Monticello, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born May 12, 1928 in Amity, AR to the late Lendon Copeland and Ethel Isom Copeland.

She was the widow of Horace V. "Punk" Sawyer, Jr. and a retired financial secretary for First Baptist Church of Monticello. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church where she served as greeter for many years. Mrs. Annamae also served on the We are Monticello committee and Drew Memorial Hospital Auxiliary many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Linnie Copeland Hilton Orr.

Survivors include two sons, Eldon Sawyer and wife Retha and Jimmy Sawyer and wife Kara all of Monticello; six grandchildren, Tom Sawyer and wife Kelli, Ellen Tinnell and husband Jake, Laura Sawyer, Ryan Sawyer, Kristen Harvey and husband Alex and Kari Harris and husband C.J.; and nine great-grandchildren, Landon, Kate, Parker, Emalee, Sidney, Hudson, Hadleigh, Camden and Kash.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
