Mae Catherine Block Williams, age 75 of Monticello, went to be with her Lord and Savior September 15, 2020, at Baptist North Hospital in North Little Rock. She was born April 21, 1945, in Monticello, AR to the late Gilbert Block and Gertrude Johnson Block. She was the widow of Joe Williams, Sr.

She worked for Leisure Lodge Nursing Home (Now The Woods Nursing and Rehab) for ten years before retiring from Burlington Industries with twenty-five years of service. She was a very active member of Morning Star Baptist Church of Monticello where she served as usher and Sunday School Secretary. Due to the fact that she was also always the first one to church every Sunday morning, Rev. Buffington gave her her own key to open the church. Mrs. Mae was also an excellent baker and was known widely for her famous poundcakes. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Pastor Eddie Lee Block and Clarence Block; and one sister, Bessie Mae Block.

Survivors include her son, Joe Williams, Jr. and wife Jacqueline of Monticello; one brother, Gilbert Kelly Block, Jr. of Flint, MI; three grandchildren, Joe D. Williams and wife Jasmine of Conway, Iesha R. Williams of Conway and Moesha G. Livingston and husband D'Angelo of Jacksonville; one great grandchild, Laurin C. Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. Online guestbook may be signed at www.stephensondearman.com.

Words can't express our heartfelt sympathy for you at this difficult time. Know that we are here for you. Your mom and grandmother was a delightful and beautiful person that is reflected in each of you. She molded you and created you and left a piece of her in each of you. Carry that memory ever so near and keep it tucked away in your heart. And when you long for her and miss her most, just tilt your head and look up above, you will find her close to you looking down on you with a smile wrapped in love.
