Send Flowers Send Flowers
A. O. Gragg was born May 26, 1938, in Plantersville, AR (Drew County) to Lonnie Lee (Brown) Gragg and O.V. Gragg. He transitioned this life on December 22, 2020, at his home. He devoted his life to Christ at an early age at Strangerest A.M.E. Church and later at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Church (Campground). He served as a Steward, Usher, Trustee, and Field Worker for the Campground Cemetery Foundation. He attended Wilmar Public School. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Sammie Lee (Ridgell) Gragg on December 15, 1955. A.O. worked as a self-employed logger and truck driver for more than fifty years. He enjoyed pit barbequing using a homemade in-ground pit and grill made from a steel oil tank, keeping his lawn immaculate, and gardening. He never met a stranger, always grinning from ear-to-ear, a trademark of his grandfather Frank Harris.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Lee Gragg and Stephen Ray Gragg; one brother, Lavon Gragg; and one sister, Gertie Lee Gragg Shaw.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Sammie Lee Gragg; his children, Deborah Bolden (Lloyd) of Jackson, TN, Margarett Gragg Wolfe of Dumas, AR, Dwight Gragg (Roselinda) of Monticello, AR; one sister, Jesse M. Brown of Detroit, MI; one brother Leron Gragg (Joyce) of Kansas City, MO; one daughter-in-law, Mary Throne Gragg of McGehee, AR; one special niece, Peggy Gonder-Dukes of Monticello, AR; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. As well as close friends, Melvin Collins, Adrian Clifton, Josh Collins, Don Ridgell, Japan Dunlap, and a host of uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and cousins who loved him dearly.
