He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Whitt Field Thornhill, Jr. and Lottie Herring Thornhill; two brothers, Addison and Otis Thornhill; two sisters, Ludie Smith and Vera Allen; a daughter in law, Mary Thornhill; and one infant son.
He was retired boiler operator at UAM and served in the Army Air Corp in World War II. He was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Moore Thornhill of Monticello; a son, Tommey Thornhill of Monticello; two daughters, Vickey Haycox and husband Buddy of Monticello and Lorena Gates of Monticello; five grandsons, Sonny Thornhill and wife Desiree of Monticello, Shane Thornhill of Monticello, Michael Wood and wife Amy of Crossett, AR, Matt Wood of Monticello, Michael Haycox and wife Amber of Damascus, AR; one granddaughter, Jayme Lee Stallman and husband Aaron of Benton, AR and fourteen great grandchildren.
