Charles Norman Posey, Sr., 86, of Monticello, formerly of Selma, passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at Belleview Nursing & Rehab in Monticello. He was born March 15, 1924 in Selma.

He was a retired maintenance operator at Burlington Industries, a World War II Navy Veteran and a Baptist. He was the son of the late John T. 'Tommy' Posey and Creola Hogue Posey and was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean Eason Posey, a daughter-in-law, DeVona Peebles Posey and two brothers, John 'Red' Posey and Claude 'Buddy' Posey.

Survivors include his son, Charles Norman Posey, Jr. of Monticello; one daughter, Diane Posey Shivers of Monticello; two grandsons, Jeff Pace and Stan Pace, both of Monticello; one granddaughter, Candace Leigh Johnson and husband, Greg of Monticello; four great-granddaughters, Delane Johnson, Carly Coston, AnnaJewel Pace and Riley-Marie Pace, all of Monticello.

    Well every since Candace and i joined hands i knew that we had done something special.
