James Roger Parker ''Blessed'', age 72 of Collins, AR, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. He was born July 8, 1949, in Jefferson County, AR to the late James Nixon Parker and Gladys Middleton Parker.
He was a Baptist preacher and was a member of Collins Baptist Church before being called to preach in Eudora. He has made an impact on children in Southeast Arkansas when he was working as a youth counselor and probation officer. Mr. Parker was also a United States Air Force Veteran. He loved working with children, fishing and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as spending time with his family, doing yard work, going on cruises and, last but not least, ironing his wife's clothes. He also enjoyed teaching karate in his younger years.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Sivils of Collins; his children, Steve Brooks of Star City, Keith Brooks of White Hall and Tammy Parker of Houston, TX; a sister, Linda Kay Thompson of Star City with nieces Gabrielle Thompson and Danyelle Mangiamele; ten grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Martha Kirkham of McGehee, Patricia Compton of Texas and Linda Sivils of Monticello; and a host of nieces and nephews in Arkansas and Texas including Mr. Tyler, Mr. James, Mr. Luke, Mr. Ryder, Mr. Ethan, Miss Libby and Miss Skylar who visited him often.

    I'm so sorry for your losses Mr Roger was the best man I could have ever asked to get to know he was certainly a man of God weather he was working as a probation officer or on church he never gave up on his kids or me as a matter of a fact it pains me to know he has gone home to cross those pearly gates .     Roger was such a nice person. He was a member of our church and a good, Christian man. He loved the Lord and would tell you in a heartbeat. When you asked him how he was, he'd reply "blessed". He loved his wife, Ann, very much and he will definitely leave a void in our community. Praying for his family.
