In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Brooks; siblings, Hubert Hedwood, Richard Swift, James Swift, David Swift, and Mary Vern Thompson.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn (James) Riley of White Planes, MA, Judy (Rufus) Hudspeth of Little Rock, AR, Margaret (Kenneth) Rogers of Pine Bluff, AR, Clarence (Brenda) Brooks of Monticello, AR, Errix Dewayne (Ruby) Brooks of Pine Bluff, AR, and Ronnie Lee (Gertrude) Brooks of New Hope, AR; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who all passionately called her Grand-ma Bea; along with many others who loved her and will all miss her.
There will be a public viewing from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 19, 2022. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Interment will follow in Campground/Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Cemetery.

She was an honored guest at our home many times & was always happy .I was a Teacher of many of her grandkids. “Grandma B” spoke at my MGHS Class Room to my students. She talked so impressively to the kids about drug dangers. We filmed her presentation so other classes could hear her message. Ms Bernice was a Woman who brought out the best in every person. A Community Leader who helped so many others. She always brought to Camoground Church events & Families experiencing losses, lots of delicious food she cooked.
Our Rabb & Fuller Families were so fortunate to know her & Robert as well as their kids.
