He was a retired owner of Bateman Printing and also worked for The Advance Monticellonian and Dollar General in the printing department. Robert was also a United States Army veteran and member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Jo Donham Bateman; a sister, Shirley Carpenter; and a brother, Merle Bateman.
He is survived by two daughters, Alisa Ball and husband Don of Monticello and Tina Spears and husband Ricky of Monticello; one brother, Delbert Bateman of White Hall; one sister, Elizabeth Hawkins of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Amye Yount and husband Robert, Robby Ball and wife Julie, and Ashley Gober and husband Zach; six great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Collins officiating. Burial will be in Gaster Hill Cemetery in Monticello, AR. Monticello, AR Thursday, December 8, 2022 I wanna take the time to say that I really enjoyed spending time with mr Bateman he would always joke with me about his blood sugars when I came in to check them he would always give me a number that he thought his blood sugars was and he would say “ I bet you it’s a certain number and I would say you think so and he would say I was close or I am not to far behind that number and we would both laugh 😂 together I am so glad I got to be a part of his life in a short amount of time I can’t stop thinking about him he was my buddy I am going to miss him so much now all I have is the memories that I can look back on and think of him until we meet again . 🎚Wanda Pierce
