He was retired from Burlington Industries, a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a medic and was a member of Ladelle Baptist Church.
''Paw Paw'', as he was so lovingly called, was all about family. He loved to camp and fish and tell tall tales around the campfire with family from Texas and Oklahoma at Labor Day family reunions on Lake De Gray. He was always in the middle of everything. As he got older and his health began to decline, it broke his heart to not get to go and see everybody. Paw loved his two grandchildren, Emmalee and Landon, with all his heart and soul and they loved him right back. His ''little darling'' and ''little buddy'' were the highlight of his day if he got to see them if only just on the golf cart or out in the yard with the dogs. In his eyes, they hung the moon and the stars. He was the patriarch of the Satterlee family and loved his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, in-laws and outlaws, and just about anyone he ever met. Although he never got over losing his brother Billy and his family in 1987, he often would tell me of his dreams of him.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Vest Satterlee; his son, Brandon Glen Satterlee and wife Jenny; his granddaughter, Emmalee Ann Satterlee; and his grandson, Landon Kade Satterlee all of Monticello; two brothers, Bryant Satterlee and wife Kristi of Monticello and Larry Satterlee and wife Sandy of Hensley; and three sisters, Margie Ellis and husband Royce of Wilmar, Debra Pharr of Monticello and Janie Massengale and husband Norman of Harrison.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ryan McRae officiating. Burial will be in Ladelle Cemetery. There will be a visitation preceding the funeral service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. You can sign Glen's guestbook page at www.stephensondearman.com
