She was a retired Monticello School District Cafeteria Dietician and UAM Book Store Manager before opening her own clothing business, Winnie's Closet in Monticello. She was a faithful member of the Monticello Church of Christ. Winnie loved growing flowers, gardening and cooking. She and her husband, Vernon, enjoyed having people over to their house where they had family get-togethers and cookouts. She also loved jigsaw puzzles and decorating but her greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Roberts; three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Frost and husband, Mike, of Little Rock; her son, Stan Roberts and wife, Julia, of Cocoa Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Lauren, Dylan, Shannon, Jason, Jacob and Seth; along with fourteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Paul Mowrer officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. There will be a visitation one hour preceding the funeral service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in honor of Winnie to the charity of your choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bowman Road Hospice Home Care for the excellent care they gave Winnie. You can sign Winnie's guestbook page at www.stephensondearman.com.
