He was a mechanic who loved his work, disabled United States Army Veteran and attended the Assembly of God Church. Sam loved to fish, work his cows, spend time on his farm, and spending time with his friends at the coffee shop in the early mornings but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also a member of the VFW. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Jason Bayird.
Sam is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Wells Bayird of Dermott; one son, Kevin Bayird of Dermott; three brothers, John Bayird of Monticello, J.M. Bayird of Back Gate and Earl Bayird of Monticello; two grandchildren, Kevin Braxton Bayird and Tristin Delan Bayird; and three great grandchildren, Ryan, McKayla and Mason Bayird.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Freeman and Rev. James Harvey officiating.
