He was a retired UAM Ground Maintenance employee, member of the National Guard and was of the Baptist faith. Danny's hobbies included tinkering outside, hunting, fishing, pestering his kids and grandkids but most of all, watching his Gunsmoke episodes.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Regina Dawkins Atwood; a sister, Emma Bell Atwood James from Sallisaw, OK; two brothers, Bill Tackett from Anadarko, OK and Douglas Tackett from Casa Grande, AZ; mother and father-in-law, Nelson and Linda Henry of Monticello; and three granddogs he loved very much, Jasper, Peanut and Duke.
He is survived by a son, Jonathan Atwood of Monticello; a daughter, Danielle Atwood and wife Jessica Atwood of Monticello; sister, Mary Jo Dakil of Sallisaw, OK; two brothers, Dennis Atwood of Phoenix, AZ and Tommy Trantham of Monticello; brother-in-law, Michael Henry of Monticello; sister-in-law, Dianna Henry of Monticello; three grandkids, Gannon Allen, Lauren Michelle and Brianna Jade; one grand dog, Karma; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
