He was an auto salesman for some forty years working at Murphy Ford in Hamburg before retiring from Ryburn Motor Company in Monticello. Buddy was a 1963 graduate of Hamburg High School and a 1967 graduate of Arkansas A&M College (now UAM). He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Eureka Lodge #40, a United States Army Veteran, loved to deer hunt and spend time with his wife, family and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Lela Faye Summers; and a special aunt and uncle, Agnes and Thomas Adair.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Maxwell Barnes of Monticello; daughter, Melissa K. Kinnaird and husband Chuck of Fountain Hill; one sister, Frankie Jo Sumner and brother-in-law, J.P. Sumner of Searcy; grandchildren, Brad Johnson and wife Kristie and Cole Nash; great grandchildren, Kaylie and Kamden Johnson; along with a special cousin, Sue Bailey and husband Eddie.
There will be a visitation for Buddy on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
