Affectionally known as "Dimp" to her family, she was born on February 27, 1944 to the late Boozie and Gracie Eggleston Smith in Selma, AR.
She accepted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sixteen Section Baptist Church.
After graduating high school, she moved to Chicago, Illinois with some of her other siblings. She later moved back to Selma, Arkansas in 1980 to assist her mother in taking care of her father.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Curtis Smith, Eddie Virgil Smith, and William "Bill" Smith; and 2 sisters, Hazel Smith and Blanche Miles.
She is survived by 4 brothers, Jerry (Veonor)Smith of Selma, AR; Dewitt (Ruthie) Smith of Little Rock, AR; Homer Smith of Jacksonville, AR; and Harrell Smith of Beaufort, SC; and 5 sisters Lucille Lucas of Omaha, NE; Beatrice Swift of Little Rock, AR; Annie (Edward) Charp of Bolingbrook, Illinois; Ernestine (Fred) Graham of Frostproof, FL; and Dorothy Smith of Southfield, MI; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
