He was a school teacher and coach and was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church. Werb was well known throughout the years for coaching and umpiring in Southeast Arkansas. He began coaching and teaching at Dermott in 2002. He was the heart to many football players, track athletes, and students. He was a Ram, a Beaver, an Eagle, a Pirate, and a Bobcat. No matter what color he wore, everyone always knew that Coach Werb loved and supported them throughout the years. He had a huge heart for always giving back to the different communities and families by hosting softball tournaments or having fundraisers for anyone in need. Besides coaching, some of Werb's favorite times were spent with his wife of 16 years, children, and his four grandchildren. He loved going on camping trips and vacations with his family. He would travel across the state to watch his grandchildren compete in sports and gymnastics competitions. His grandchildren were the center of his life. Werb was also a volunteer firefighter for Wilmar and a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and the Arkansas Officiating Association.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Zell Werb. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Werb; two children, Andrew Brannon of Monticello and Sarah Pace (Matt) of Wilmar, grandchildren, Trace Brannon, Ellie Brannon, Luke Pace, and Liam Pace, siblings, Madeline Werb, Chopper (Lisa) Stewartsville, New Jersey and Rufus Werb (Evelyn) of Mountain View; father in law- James Hartness of Wilmar; sister in Law, Jamie Staley (Mark) of Wilmar; cousins that were raised like brothers, Larry Werb (Stephanie), Billy Traylor and Cole (Renea) Curtis all of Mountain View; and one aunt, Linda Mitchell of Mountain View.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2023, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Caleb Lane and Scottie Harrison officiating. There will be a visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. You can sign Andrew's guestbook page on this website.
