Sylvia attended Arkansas A&M for 2 years and then went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until she retired after 36 years in 1986. After retiring from Southwestern Bell Telephone, she started volunteering for Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock and continued her service for 31 years and over 10,000 hours. She was a member Woodlawn Baptist Church in Little Rock and the Rock Builders Mission group and helped build several churches in other states.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy and Nancy; and one brother, Joe B. Dishongh. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mitch Tappin officiating. Burial will be in the Selma Cemetery. You can sign Mrs. Sylvia's guestbook registry on this page.
