She attended Monticello Schools until the 10th grade and then graduated from Heber Springs High School where she was one of the top students in her class. She was presently employed by St. Jeane's Factory. Crystal was preceded in death by her father, Terry Ward; her grandmother, Auzzie Carter Ward; and her grandfather, James Morris.
Survivors include her mother, Melanie Ann Freeman of Pearcy; her brother, Alex Hamel of Cabot; her sister, Terann Ward of Monticello; her grandmother, Mary Stringer of Melbourne; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Heber Springs, AR Monday, December 20, 2010 To Crystal's mom,Just wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear about Crystal. She was a very nice girl. I knew her from dating my nephew Hunter Tomlinson for a while.They went to his prom together. She still come in Wal-Mart and would give me a hug and talk to me. She was always so funny. I really enjoyed being around her. She passed away on the day that it was 5 yrs. ago that my son passed away. So, I know what you are going through. The only way I made it was praying a lot and relying on God to help. He was the only way I was able to make it. It will be very hard but, just remember to put everything in God's hands.
