Bob loved the Lord and honestly lived his life to serve Him. Every day he spent hours reading his Bible and in prayer; his favorite activities. He was a Southern Baptist Minister where he preached for 45 years during which time he pastored twelve churches in Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri. He also loved to work outdoors. As long as he was able, he stayed busy, doing something productive. But, he would say his greatest accomplishment in this life has been winning souls for Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Harold and Jerry McManus.
Brother Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara McManus of Lockesburg; two sons, Mark McManus and his wife Tina of Yellville and Greg McManus and his wife, Paula of Evening Shade; four daughters, Debbie Wilhite of Lacey, Cynthia McManus of Lacey; Kelly Mills and husband Jimmy of Lockesburg and Melanie McManus of Nashville; 13 grandchildren, Shane, David, and Jessica Hartley, Kipp Carter, Cameron Stain, Meagan Pearson, Nikki McManus, Connor McManus, Kirsten Brinkley, Cord McManus, Kaleb Mills, Trevor Mills, and Mason Honea; as well as 20 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at De Queen First Baptist Church with Brother Homer Frachiseur and Brother Jared Morphew officiating. There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Chandler's Funeral Home in De Queen. Burial will be in Ladelle Cemetery in Drew County, AR. Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Wishard, Patrick Fisher, Scottie Morris, Darrel Higgins, Darin Hood and Billy Keener. You can sign Brother Bob's guestbook registry on this page.
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet no I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
- Galatians 2:20 (KJV)
