He was retired from the Soil Conservation Service in Warren, AR, member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church and a United States Air Force Veteran where he was a airplane mechanic. Thomas enjoyed anything mechanical, deer hunting, listening to music and teaching his children everything he knew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Leggett and Byron Leggett; and a sister, Sue Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nealie Peacock Leggett of Monticello; a daughter, Sonya Dawne Ryburn and husband Robbie of Monticello; a son, Thomas Neal Leggett and wife Karen of Monroe, LA; siblings, Joe Leggett of Concord, David Reece Leggett and wife Sharon of Camden, James Patrick Leggett and wife Nova of Monticello, Mary Ethel Murphy and husband Charles of Bryant and Randy Earl Leggett and wife Ruby of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Alyson Brooke Rabb and husband Michael, Robert Lee Ryburn, IV, William Thomas Leggett, Eryn Elizabeth Wood and husband Conner; and great grandchildren, Paxton, Cleo and Wren Rabb.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rob Leonard officiating. There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday preceding the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. You can sign Thomas' guestbook registry on this page.
