Cindy was born Cynthia Marie Potts on December 13, 1956, to Peggy Brister Potts and Robert Louis Potts in Selma, Alabama. Cindy is predeceased in death by her mother, Peggy Potts, her father, Robert Louis Potts, her brother, Robert Louis Potts, Jr., her maternal grandparents, Lucille and Samuel Brister, her paternal grandparents, Helen and Eugene Potts, and her father-in-law, Bill Elliott, Sr.
Cindy affectionately known as ''Gi-Gi'' by her grandchildren is survived by: her husband of nearly 37 years, Bill Elliott; her three sons: Billy Elliott (Katie), Ryan Elliott (Braxton), and Bobby Elliott (Megan Moore); her five grandchildren: Ila Katherine, Huntley, Maren, Larsen, and Sam all of Lake Village, Arkansas; her brother, Tommy Potts (Lori); close family friend, Jay Collins; her mother-in-law, Patricia Myatt Elliott; and a host of family and friends.
She was a member of the Century Club of Lake Village, and she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Village, where she served on the church guiding committee as a Church Elder.
Cindy grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and she was proud to be a Vicksburg, Mississippi native. As a young girl, she attended St. Francis Xavier Elementary, which was the foundation for her deep faith.
At a very young age, Cindy tragically and suddenly lost her father, but she was quickly instilled with the values of family, care, love, and support, which set the foundation for Cindy's life and the pillars by which she lived.
Cindy was a graduate of Warren Central High School in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where she was voted Miss Warren Central, Most Beautiful, and Class Favorite.
Cindy attended Millsaps College, Mississippi State University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Cindy followed her passion of caring for her others, and she received her Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, which led her to Lake Village, Arkansas, where while working, she met the love of her life and father to her three sons, Bill Elliott.
While always a Mississippi girl, she rooted herself across the river in the Arkansas Delta where she and Bill would become row croppers and cattle farmers. She loved her husband of nearly 37 years with grace, support, and compassion. She made his family her family, and the lines of immediate family and friends blurred into one big family.
On September 23, 1988, she became a mother as she and Bill proudly welcomed their first son, Billy Ernest Elliott, III, and two short years later, on February 1, 1991, they welcomed their second son, Samuel ''Ryan'' Elliott. On May 13, 1996, Cindy welcomed her baby boy, Robert Louis Elliott.
Cindy's entire life had prepared her to be a wonderful mother and a beacon of safety, security, support, truth, compassion, and love for not only her three sons but also to a host of ''adopted sons'' - children of friends who became more like sons to Cindy and Bill. She considered so many other children to be her children.
While Cindy loved being a physical therapist, she retired to take care of her mother. Little did Cindy know, this would later lead to her role as office manager, bookkeeper, and glue of the family operations and businesses.
Cindy never shied away from helping others. When her grandchildren were born, she was a source of comfort and security. Everyone who knows Cindy has numerous stories about how she helped care for them or their loved ones.
While her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends will greatly miss her, her love and care for others has been ignited into their hearts, and her legacy and values will carry on in them.
