Carlene Scogin Lawson, 87, of Monticello passed away February 8, 2011 at Drew Memorial Hospital. She was born December 1, 1923 to the late Charlie Wright and Anna Belle Higganson Scogin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Carroll Lawson; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Christina Campbell; five brothers and three sisters.

She was retired from Burlington, a seamstress and was an active member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include; two daughters, Pam Stewart and Karen Riggins and husband Allan all of Monticello; one brother James Scogin of Bastrop, Louisiana; three grandsons, Josh and Trent Riggins and Stephen Stewart; one granddaughter, Lindsay Owens and three great-grandchildren.
