Mr. Larkin was such a wonderful man. A great christian, son, brother, husband, father, and papaw, and friend. He never met a stranger, always having a story to tell. He loved his family so much... especially Rachel and Barret ( those grandkids). They made his face light up! I knew he would help our family at a moment's notice if needed. He is not here in Monticello any longer, but his stories and love is. I will miss you Mr. Larkin.
  12. Debra Ragan
Mr. Larkin Brown was a wonderful and kind man. I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Brown through working at the McGehee Extension Office. Everytime I talked to Mr. Larkin either by telephone or in person, he always made my day. He got along with and loved everybody. I sure missed him when he retired. But at different times, he would visit the McGehee Office and it was a blessing to visit with him again. He will always be one of my favorite Extension Agents.

  16. Sherry Carson
My heart is so sad for the loss of my second Dad, Mr. Larkin. He always called me his other Sherry. He loved people and especially children and always made them feel special. I will always be grateful for the time he spent with my boys and the love he showed us all....it may have been a meal , homemade sling shots or stilts, a trip to the farm or the county fair or a big ole hug. So thankful for such a wonderful Christian man that had his priorities right. He was such a special man, loved his family, His Lord, His community and his friends.. Sure gonna miss you but you are walking wiht our Lord....see you there later.
  17. Paul Dickson Jr
Mr. Larkin was a former co-worker and friend while at the Extension Service. To this day when I think of the Extension Service, I think of him. He loved Drew County and all his friends there. He was at home in front of a crowd of farmers or group of 4H members. Several lives have been changed for the better simply by being around Mr. Larkin. Including mine. Paul Dickson Jr.

  49. Barbara Benton
I had the pleasure of working for Mr. Brown as a 4-H Program Assistant for many years. He was one of the kindest persons one could meet. I never heard him ever raise his voice to any of the children, and he was the same whenever and wherever you saw him. From time to time, Bruce and I would talk in the post office, and I'd ask about him. There are no words that I can say to the family to ease the grief you may be experiencing at this time. Death is never easy, but it is evident. Hold on to the precious memories that you had with him, and ask God to give you the strength to make it through. I will keep you in my prayers.

This is a very sad day for me. I worked with Mr. Brown for over 20 years at the Extension Office and I've missed him a lot since he retired. He never treated me like he was my supervisor, he treated me like a friend and co-worker; he was always fair. I considered it an honor to work with such a wonderful man. He loved his family as much as any human being possibly could. When we were talking, we'd usually end up talking about his family, especially Barrett and Rachel! I feel as though I grew up with those two and loved every minute of it.
