Ricky was an interior designer for Objects LTD in Denver. He was a 1971 graduate of Wilmar High School as valedictorium of his class and attended UAM, graduated Cum Laude from Ouachita in 1975 and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Sigma and was on the Ouachitonian Editorial and was a member of many clubs. He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Merrell Young and his grandparents, Daniel Clinton and Edna Young.
Survivors include his mother, Rosie Lee Shepherd Young of Wilmar; two brothers, Mike Young and wife, Gay and Mark Young, all of Wilmar; three sisters, Kathy Taylor and husband, Jerry of Rye, Becky Pace and husband, Gary of Wilmar and Melanie Evans and husband, Dennis of Warren; seven nephews, two nieces, six great-nephews, five great-nieces and a host of loving and caring friends.

Houston, TX Sunday, May 15, 2011 Rick and I met when we were students at OBU, and after graduation, our friendship continued for the rest of his life. Rick was a true inspiration to all who were fortunate and blessed to have him as a friend. He always maintained a positive attitude toward life especially regarding his health issues. Not once can I ever remember him complaining; he certainly had every right to do so. Rick was like a brother to me, and he will certainly be missed.
