Born July 25, 1920 in Drew County, Arkansas, Grace resided in Greenhill, AR with her husband, Herman Pace, and their three children, Bobby, Harry and Charlotte before moving to Monticello. She lived there until 2005, when she moved to Hickory, North Carolina with her daughter and husband, their children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Herman Pace and her siblings Norbert Piper, Vance Piper and Blanche Piper Pace. Since her husband's death 43 years ago, Grace has spent the rest of her life quilting a family of love, nourishing them with good food and kindness, and inspiring them with her love for God.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Pace and wife, Daisy of Hernando, MS and Harry Pace and wife, Janet of Searcy; one daughter, Charlotte Raney and husband, Wilbur of Hickory, N.C., seven grandchildren, Clay Pace, Scott Pace, Paul Thompson, Randy Thompson, Jim Pace, Wayne Pace and Diana Grace Cooper and fifteen great-grandchildren.
