I served in the armed forces.
Edward Jett, 74, of McGehee, formerly of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Southern Heritage Nursing & Rehab in McGehee. He was born November 25, 1936 in Drew County.

He was a general laborer, attended Drew High School , was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, receiving the Purple Heart for injuries and a member of the A.M.E. faith. He was the son of the late Isaac Jett and Lela Owens Jett.

Survivors include one son; one daughter; one sister, Gloria Gordon of CA; two brothers, George Thomas of Pine Bluff and Larry Thomas of Dallas, TX; a special caregiver, Vera Wimbley of Monticello and a host of relatives and friends.
